I have traveled a lot while living in Germany for four years, including hundreds of hotel stays. This hotel was the friendliest one I have experienced. The front desk and restaurant staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The hotel is beautiful and a short four-minute walk from the train station. I would undoubtedly stay here again.

For its age, the property is very well maintained and it was a pleasure to stay there. The owners were present every day and I saw them engage with guests all the time which shows they are committed to their guests and their property. The staff were all wonderful and attentive from the front desk people, the restaurant servers, the bartender, and the porter. The included breakfast was great, the food at Jack’s Brasserie was delicious, and the views from our balconies were beautiful

I liked Wengen very much. There’s a decent selection of restaurants and a few shops to browse around. It’s easy to get to and easy to get to Mürren and Grindelwald from. The scenery is stunning and everyone was very friendly. A great stay

Our first trip to Wengen and although it’s a trek to get there it is easy using Swiss rail network. Fabulous mountain village and benefits from being traffic free. The skiing was great although not extensive and other areas are a challenge to get to but enough above the town for a weeks casual skiing. Those who like to travel around may find it restrictive. There is one T bar lift to get back to Wengen if you traverse to Klein Schenigg which is a pain but you can either ski down to Wengen or take the train if T bars are not your thing ( not ours!). The town has a range or bars and restaurants but is peaceful. A few shops too selling ski wear, walking gear and Swiss stuff as you would expect. Local food shops are well stocked as well. We used the COOP mainly. They also sell firewood if your place has a log burner.
We went to ski but would love to go back in warmer times to trek as it looks fabulous!

Wengen was straight out of a postcard!
Wengen was straight out of a postcard! The town was charming and the views were second to none. The vacation was wonderful for us as a couple, but is also very family friendly. There were well behaved dogs with many of the visitors as well. I cannot wait to return!

The setting in the Jungfrau Region is jaw-dropping.
The setting in the Jungfrau Region is jaw-dropping. Small village feel with accomodations ranging from rustic to luxurious. Traffic-free, except for the occassional taxi or public works vehicle. Train access to high apline environment is unparalleled! Just wish the snow was better in late January.

Stunning scenery wherever you go. Good mix of transport options (train, gondola, cable cars) - just need a bit of patience as only runs every 15-30 mins. Great place for sledding, walking and just enjoying the majestic mountains.

Very cute town with lots of local places to eat/drink and shop on the on-season. Since we were there during slack, there were VERY few options. Wouldn't recommend unless it's full-on winter or full-on summer!
The hotel is located right in front of the train station, there's a Coop next door and a self-service laundromat at the building (reception will help with more info). The views are breath-taking and you can take the train to Kleine Scheidegg and take another from there to the Jungfraujoch (The top of Europe). Lauterbrunnen is just down the hill, the train runs every half-hour and the ride is only 13 minutes. The hotel has two restaurants (great steak) and there are many around (pizza, pasta, steak, and Santos has the best burgers 🍔😋)
The hotel is a characterisitic Swiss alpine hotel. Our room balcony looked out towards the Jungfrau. Daniel and his team are exteremely helpful always happy to answer questions such as where to ski today, which day will be best day to visit the Jungfraujoch or to recommend restaurants for dinner. The hotel breakfast is an excellemnt Swiss breakfast and if you don't want to eat out there is a very resonably priced 4 course set menu dinner on offer and a good range of wines and beers. Also after skiing the sauna is very welcoming!
The hotel location was breathtaking, the staff were all amazing, and the room was beautiful. We often ate at the hotel restaurant (4 course meal that changes daily) and the food was *always* fantastic. A big thank you again to the amazing people that keep the place running. Even though the hotel was full to bursting point, including a huge family of at least 10 adults and 20 young children, the staff were always smiling and helpful. I wish them all the best and am looking forward to staying again - hopefully next year :)
Great location near the main st of Wengen, right by the train station, especially handy if you have lots of luggage. The trains were very quiet and didn’t pose a problem. We took 1/2 board which was great value. Plenty of good food on offer. I would highly recommend if you’re on a tighter budget. Hotel a little dated but its location and facilities made up for it. The Spa was free for hotel guests and was a great addition. They provided luggage storage, again a great help .I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
This hotel far exceeded my expectations. Even the smaller room I booked had everything I needed, including a patio facing the mountain and a desk for me to work at (plus free drinks in the mini-bar!). The bar/lounge area was such a great space to grab a drink after a day of hiking, and I loved the pool/sauna/steam room area. Best of all, the hotel staff were so accommodating, even offering to move my room when I told them there was a noisy family next door. I will stay here next time I visit for sure!
The best thing about this property is the view. Hands down. We hiked around several trails, but always agreed that we loved the view of the valley from the house best!
The house was beautiful, clean, and well equipped. It was obviously newly renovated, and we appreciated the details and furnishings. We honestly could have stayed forever. There was plenty of room for our family of seven to stretch out. We loved that it was located outside of Wengen and in a little more peaceful location.
My phone didn't work in Switzerland(the calling feature was blocked because Switzerland was not an EU country), but I was glad to find that there was a calling station that allowed me to contact the hotel to arrange a shuttle bus. We had the top floor room, which we had to climb the last story through the stairs. The room is fairly big with a couch, and it was clean. The breakfast was nice and the staff were helpful. The garden has great view and you can see Jungfrau!
The location of Alpine Rhue Vintage Hotel at the top of the town (Wengen) provided a breathtaking view of the alps (including Jungfrau) from the balcony doors. The premium room was spacious and comfortable. The cable car from Wengen to Mannlichen is mandatory in your visit. You can take a second cable car at the top through the valley to Grindewald for even more spectacular scenery. There was not many people (early September) around so we had the Alps to ourselves.
Cosy, comfortable and well-equipped apartment a few minutes walk from the centre of Wengen, at the entrance to the Hotel Wengerhof grounds.
We had the one bedroom apartment Mönch on the ground floor. Plenty of room for two people, full kitchen and a nice balcony as well as access to the HotelcWengerhof gardens.
The apartment is in typical Swiss 1970s/1980s style but perfectly comfortable and functional. We’d be happy to stay there again.
Spectacular views from the balcony! Room is small but cozy and nice. There are many hotels in Wengen but given Jungfraublick is on the little hill you have unobstructed view. There is good breakfast included in the room rate. It’s only 5min walk from the railway station. Victor & Irene’s hospitality is simply outstanding- they will do everything to make your stay in Wengen comfortable. We had great stay in Jungfraublick.
The hotel is very close to the Wengen railway station with good connectivity to Lauterbrunnen and also right next to the Mannlichen cable car and has absolutely amazing views of the mountains! The room was clean and big and had a balcony overlooking the mountains.
10/10 recommend for people who can overlook some missing amenities. The view from the balcony can more than compensate for them :)
Fantastic view from the room and hotel
Great location in Wengen, a bit away from the town so quieter but a bit of a walk uphill, harder with heavy luggages
Great service, staff very friendly and helpful
Breakfast has good selection, best thing was the fresh sweet orange juice and the juicer where you can make your own juice
A perfect base for our first trip to Switzerland with great access to the whole Jungfrau area. The apartment had everything we needed and the views from the balcony were so good we decided to stay in to eat every night as we had the best table in the house.
Great location, room had a view of the valley. Dinner was fabulous, the best we had in Wengen. Breakfast was my personal favorite- loved the do-it-yourself egg cooker and the fresh breads. Quick and filling for great days.
friendly staff best location I will stay again in this hotel inshallah all the staff who worked and met are lovely amazing beautiful friendly staff always lounging and very cooperative
